Is Homeschooling becoming a trend?

"When one teaches two learn." -Robert Heinlein

The year is 2022 and I will be officially homeschooling my daughter, Kataryna. Since she was born, I've been homeschooling her, but I think most parents unknowingly home-school their babies. Consistently reading to their children before bedtime, using flashcards, coloring and more... But this year I have gone to the school district to notify them that our daughter will be home-schooled instead of going to a public or private school. That is why I say it is official. I do have to admit homeschooling officially is scary. I know I can do it, but it will come with many obstacles. For one, I do not want my child to be behind her school-age mates. I do not want to fail her. I want her to succeed and to get my full attention during "school," hours. With little boys running around, it can be a challenge. I stop, yell at them, turn the TV on, yell at them, make food, yell some more, and so forth while teaching my child her schoolwork. I truly feel like I'm letting one of my children down. I'm pregnant and exhausted so by the time I am done teaching Kataryna, I'm too tired to teach the boys. Reading books before bedtime has slowed down and naps have increased. I just hope after baby girl comes [Feb. 2023] things will get better. The energy will return, goals will continue to increase, and consistency will become our mantra once again. For those who fear homeschooling their children for whatever reason, let me be the light in the darkness of homeschooling. At first it was overwhelming, scary and chaotic. Now it's becoming a habit. It's becoming easier, she is done within two hours and although I'm still mentally and physically exhausted it is becoming easier. So much so, that I am able to incorporate some schooling albeit 10 to 20 min of it for my boys. I do currently face the dilemma occasionally whether to teach, cook, nap, eat, relax versus teach, cook, clean, eat, and relax lol. Sorry to my husband who comes home to a clean home and a sandwich or a home-cooked meal in a semi- messy home. Oops. Like I said the feeling of letting down someone is inevitable but homeschooling in itself becomes easier especially when consistent. There is always the option of hiring a tutor for an hour or so, if you're blessed with financial stability. If I could hire someone to teach my kids for an hour-a-day, I would! Not for the curriculum as of yet, it is kindergarten after all but more so for my children to learn something I am unable to teach them, change it up and if I'm honest it would give me the opportunity to either spend more individual time with my other children, or work, or clean without interruption.

These are my thoughts today and for now this is my current mental state. I will try my best to be consistent in keeping my blogs up to date. Love to all. Thank you for engaging.
